Wellness Center Enhancement (2024-2025)
The Toro Canyon Middle School community is committed to enhancing our Wellness Center into an environment that encourages students to feel calm, safe, and accepted. The generous grant awarded by the Anderson Children’s Foundation will greatly help in this process. The financial support provided will assist in the Wellness Center’s goal of providing unique learning experiences outside of the traditional classroom setting and helping students practice the skills required to develop and maintain positive relationships, become lifelong learners and contribute to a more caring and just world. Toro Canyon is heavily reliant and extremely grateful for the funding provided by the Anderson Children’s Foundation and the opportunity it affords us to support our students.

Transforming School Culture (2023-2024)
The Toro Canyon Middle School community is committed to transforming our culture into one that rewards students who are following school wide expectations of safety, responsibility, and respect. The grant money received from the Anderson Children’s Foundation will assist in this process by allowing our community to expand our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. PBIS is a tiered framework put in place to support every student in a behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health capacity. The program also improves health and wellbeing by creating systems that reward students for positive behavior inside and outside the classroom. Students select rewards via a PBIS store. Toro Canyon will be using the grant to purchase incentive items for the PBIS store (iPods and Air Pods).
