Think Together

Culinary Arts Program (2026-2027)

Think Together's Culinary Arts Program will engage approximately 350 middle and high school students across seven Coachella Valley sites in hands-on culinary education that builds essential life and career skills.

The program will support middle school and high school students throughout Palm Springs Unified School District. Through 10-week afterschool clubs offered twice each year, students will learn cooking fundamentals, nutrition, menu planning, food safety, and culinary techniques while exploring cultural connections to food and building confidence in the kitchen.

High school participants will have the opportunity to earn their California Food Handler Certification, providing valuable credentials and creating pathways to employment in the food service and hospitality industries. Students will gain practical experience preparing meals, working as a team, and developing skills that can support future educational and career opportunities.

Each program cycle culminates in a student-led Community Meal where participants showcase their culinary creations for family members, school staff, and community supporters. These events celebrate student achievement while fostering connection, confidence, and pride.

Support from the Anderson Children's Foundation helps provide fresh ingredients, kitchen supplies, instructional materials, and certification opportunities, ensuring students have access to meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that promote healthy habits, career exploration, and long-term success.
