SMARTS Music Access for Coachella Valley Youth (2026-2027)
SMARTS (Sharing Music, Accessing Resources, Transforming Students) is a program of the Sunset Music and Education Foundation that serves Coachella Valley youth through music education, mentorship, and performance opportunities. Many students have a passion for music but lack access to instruments, instruction, and opportunities to develop their skills beyond the classroom. SMARTS helps bridge those gaps by providing instruments, scholarships, and hands-on learning experiences with professional musicians. Through workshops, rehearsals, soundchecks, and live performances, students gain real-world experience while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistic skills. By connecting young musicians with professional artists and meaningful performance opportunities, SMARTS helps students discover their potential while strengthening their connection to school, community, and the arts.
