Makeshift Traveler Backpack for Homeless Youth (2024-2025)
The HomeMore Project devoted over a year to developing our Makeshift Traveler, a backpack we designed specifically tailored to the needs of an individual experiencing unsheltered homelessness. The pack features a robust hardshell featuring a solar panel, battery, and charging port as nearly 70% of those experiencing homelessness use cell phones to stay in touch with loved ones and access critical services. We are extremely appreciative of this $2,500 grant award from the Anderson Children's Foundation which will support providing a Makeshift Traveler to 25 homeless youth in the Coachella Valley.
