Ezekiel's Gift of Love CV Down Syndrome Foundation

We want to provide a big event, Rock Your Fitness. This event will include a unity walk that would be an obstacle course with carnival games, dunk booths, arts / crafts, and music. It would also highlight local organizations that work with individuals with disabilities and will include a resource fair component. In addition to the festival, we want to be able to host three dance/ sports events throughout the year. Individuals with Down syndrome thrive from interacting with others, dancing, and laughing. This will help our members with Down syndrome who are known to have more of a sedentary lifestyle to be more active and engaged.

We promote inclusion and all our events are open to the public.

Our goal is to be able to create a fun and safe environment for our families and members to discover new fitness lifestyles. Our members will get exposure to adaptive sports and activities that will foster good healthy lifestyles. They will receive Fitness swag bags and free fitness classes throughout the day. We want to also provide them with social opportunities to continue to stay active. This grant will assist us to be able to reach more families and children.

At Ezekiel's Gift of Love Coachella Valley Down Syndrome Foundation our mission is to provide support, education and instill hope to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and our community.

The vision of Ezekiel’s Gift of Love Coachella Valley Down Syndrome Foundation is to create a supportive environment for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our expectation is to foster hope and comfort to new families who have received a prenatal or birth diagnosis of Down syndrome through the presentation of factual information, linkage to resources and community connections. For families that are further along in their journey, our goal is to provide an opportunity for members to participate in support groups, educational workshops and social events. Through this collaborative effort, Ezekiel’s Gift of Love Coachella Valley Down Syndrome Foundation intends to unite and empower our Down syndrome community, “You are not alone!”

With the Anderson Children's Foundation grant, Ezekiel’s Gift of Love is able to put on a “Fitness Fair” for its members, their family and the community. The “Fitness Fair” will take place in the fall, at a local park and include opportunities to try different activities such as Zumba, karate, basketball and dance. There will be an “Eze Stroll” around the park, as well as swag bags, entertainment and healthy snacks.
