Family Birth Center- SNOO Smart Sleepers & BiliCocoon Nests (2025-2026)

Eisenhower is proud to be the first hospital in Southern California to implement a Substance Exposure Program for newborns suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, a condition where infants experience painful withdrawal symptoms including uncontrollable tremors, high-pitched cries and difficulty sleeping. With nearly 90% eventually placed in foster care, their hospital stays can stretch for weeks. These babies require around the clock care and the new SNOO Smart Sleepers make a meaningful difference. The responsive bassinet gently rocks, swaddles, and sooths infants with calming white noise, adding an hour of sleep per night, supporting neurological development and saving up to four hours of clinical care time per baby per day.

Parents with newborns born with jaundice will now have a BiliCocoon Nest System to deliver gentle, full-body, 360° LED phototherapy allowing parents to hold, feed, and bond with their babies during treatment. The BiliCocoon will help in reducing anxiety, strengthening bonds, and in many cases shortening hospital stays and preventing NICU readmissions.
