Operation S.A.V.E Our Youth (2026-2027, 2024-2025, 2022-2023, 2021-2022, 2019-2020)
Operation S.A.V.E. (Suicide, Anger, & Victimization Education) is an experientially based, educational and therapeutic program designed to help children and adolescents across the Coachella Valley fulfill emotional needs, find mental/physical balance, build self-confidence and competence, and generate healthy relationship skills. We use art, crafts, music, movement, and other various therapeutic interventions to achieve these goals. The program specifically targets children and adolescents ages 13 to 18 exposed to various types of abuse and violence (e.g., physical, sexual, bullying, substance, gangs, domestic abuse), neglect, and other high-risk situations, and who are showing such signs as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-injury, academic failure, or disciplinary problems. This year, we are expanding our program to include teens on the Autism spectrum and other disabilities who are able to participate in the program.
